Are you a disciplined procrastinator?

Are you someone who jumps off the plane first and builds a parachute on the way down?

Or someone who takes forever to board the plane because you’re still making the perfect parachute?

Although I’d like to convince myself I’m in-between, I’m more of the latter.

I’m always getting ready to get ready.

In the name of perfection, I procrastinate.

In the name of safety, I procrastinate.

In the name of just-to-be-sure, I procrastinate.

In the name of fill-in-the-blank-here, I procrastinate.

Heck, I even procrastinate procrastination at times!

I’ve read countless books on overcoming procrastination. From Brian Tracy’s “Eat That Frog” to Mel Robbins’ “The 5 Second Rule”, you name it, I’ve read it.

Did they help? I’m still trying to recall whether I’ve finished reading all those books or not.

Am I a chronic procrastinator? I don’t know because some people said I was a disciplined person.

So, does that make me a “disciplined procrastinator”?

Disciplined procrastinator. What an oxymoron!

Are you also a disciplined procrastinator like me? Productive and effective in one thing, but lazy and apathetic in another?

If you are, take heart. You’re not alone. Someone is procrastinating with you.
