Be Charitable vs Appear Charitable

Imagine you’re making $1000 a day.

One day, someone asks you to help out for a day at a charitable foundation. The “bonus” is your photo will be shot and featured on their website.

What would you do?

Give up earning $1000 on that day, do charity work and appear charitable?

Or continue working but be charitable by employing ten persons and paying them $100 each to help out in that charitable foundation?

I used to do the former, not because my photo would be shot. But because it felt good doing charitable work.

But as I age, I tend to choose actions that make more sense than make me feel good. So, I would do the latter now because I believe it’s more productive.

Firstly, I give employment to ten people, and secondly, ten people can definitely do more work than me.
