Do you have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out)?

We buy sales items because we’re afraid that the thing will return to its pre-sale price if we don’t.

Some people send their children for extra classes because they’re afraid that their children would lose out to their peers or lose face when their colleagues ask.

I thought I didn’t have FOMO because I didn’t do the above.

I bought stocks that were not on my watchlist because I was afraid of missing out lest they grow by 20% in a day.

I sold stocks because I was afraid that they might drop further.

So, like it or not, we all have FOMO in one form or another.

What if instead of having FOMO on things, we have it on humans?

Like spending more time with our parents because we don’t know how long they’d be with us? Or saying “I love you” to someone we love because we don’t know whether we’ll be around tomorrow or not?

So, yes. Having FOMO is not as harmful as we think if we use it for the right cause.
