Excuse me, Here’s your death sentence

Do you “take notes” while watching movies or dramas?

I do. Today, I’d like to share one thought-provoking note with you.

Below is a scene in a drama where I heard some disturbing words and took notes.

While waiting to see their oncologist, a thirty-year-old Mike asked a fifty-year-old Walter, “Stage what?”

“Stage four. You?” Walter replied.

“Stage three. I can’t believe this is happening to me. I’ve just started a business, my wife and I are planning to have a child. Everything’s going well, and boom, life gives me a death sentence!” Mike heaved a big sigh.

“Every life comes with a death sentence. Deal with it, young man!” Walter interrupted.

Ouch!

The sentence “Every life comes with a death sentence” sure hurts.

But it’s true.

The moment we’re born, we’re served a death sentence. It’s just that some of us get the notice earlier and some later. It’s not a matter of “if”, but “when”.

I know. This is a heavy topic to discuss. Especially on a Monday! But when we accept that every life comes with a death sentence and deal with it, we will be thankful for each day that we’re alive. No?
