If you think the information on the internet is free, you obviously didn’t take the time you take to read or watch into consideration.
When you “pay” attention, say 10 minutes to A, you have 10 minutes less attention to “pay” to B.
If A is useless information, you’ve just wasted 10 minutes of your life reading or watching useless stuff.
A little 10 minutes here, a little there can add up to thousands of minutes over the years.
Imagine this: For the past ten years, instead of using 30 minutes a day to read or watch useless stuff, you’ve used them – 109,500 minutes to be exact – to consume information that added value to your life and career.
What kind of life would you be having right now?
What kind of person would you be right now?
Attention is a limited resource. It’s not as free as you’ve always thought. That’s why you have to “pay” for it. Hence, “pay” precedes the word, “attention”.
So please, be selective with what you pay attention to in future.
Let 2019 be the year you start paying attention to useful stuff!
PS: You can keep paying attention to my posts, though. ?
