While re-listening to a business audiobook, I’ve got reminded of the L.E.A.P. formula self-made millionaires use.
LEARNING – Self-made millionaires spend more time and effort discovering what they do best and pursuing opportunities related to what they do best. They follow their heart AND the money.
EARNING – They take on projects and make deals that maximise those opportunities’ investment rates while limiting their downside risks. They usually ask for equity in the business/project they’re working on.
ASSISTANCE – They actively cultivate networks of friends, associates, and partners to get help and advice on all the essential tasks they are not good at. They believe in the adage, “It’s not what you know, but who you know.”
PERSISTENCE – They take a genuine interest in their setbacks as an essential aspect of their road to success. They believe that as long as they keep going, success can be had in a matter of time.
There you have it! Simple formula, isn’t it?
“But why are most people not rich yet?” you ask.
Because getting rich is simple, but NEVER easy.
All “secrets” to riches have one thing in common: brilliant work PLUS consistent hard work.
The “secret” is the part that comes after the PLUS, which most people miss or do not believe in.
You’re not most people.
NB: If you’re interested in the book, it’s called “Business Brilliant: Surprising Lessons from the Greatest Self-Made Business Icons” by Lewis Schiff. Not a bestselling business book. But it’s a practical book nonetheless.
